The MIA offers full-service technology, versatile spaces, and hospitality for all types of business gatherings, large and small—meetings, brainstorm sessions, classes,  retreats, conferences, workshops—on a historic campus overlooking downtown Minneapolis. Policies and Procedures

The MIA welcomes meetings, retreats, receptions, and special events. The museum reserves the right to review special-event plans to ensure that they are compatible with the MIA’s mission. Please note that the museum is unable to host political activities, fund-raising events, religious ceremonies, proms, memorials, or any commercial functions. To safeguard the art, please note that red wine, candles, banners, balloons, and glitter/confetti are prohibited in the galleries. Cooking and the use of steam tables in the galleries is also not allowed.

Professional Photography at the MIA: It’s a Snap!

The Minneapolis Institute of Arts welcomes you, your guests, and the professionals who will help capture your special event. To safeguard the art, a permit is required for any posed or commercial photography within the museum. A two-hour photography permit is available for purchase.
