Get insights from the front lines of contemporary art on current collecting trends, their relevance within today’s encyclopedic institutions, and the direction of Mia’s contemporary program going forward. Topics will range from rethinking postwar/contemporary art history through a global lens, to the increasing role of technology in contemporary art.

Gabriel Ritter, Mia’s new curator of contemporary art, joins Mia from the Dallas Museum of Art. Prior to his appointment in Dallas, Ritter completed a Japan Foundation Doctoral Fellowship at The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, where he conducted his dissertation research on Japanese surrealism.
