Corine Wegener: Heritage in the Crosshairs: The Smithsonian Cultural Resource Initiative

cori-wegener-photoPreserving cultural heritage is a priority for the Smithsonian Institution, which is developing a disaster plan to conserve and restore cultural heritage collections throughout the world. Corine Wegener, formerly the associate curator of Decorative Arts at Mia, is now the Cultural Preservation Officer at the Smithsonian and specializes in armed conflict mitigation, disaster risk reduction, and cultural recovery of artifacts and art.
