Kristen Lowe ǀ The Artist Is In

Whether you’re a doodler, a draftsperson, or somewhere in between, pick up a pencil and get drawing. Kristen Lowe will be on hand for informal drawing demonstrations, gallery talks, lessons, and to share her personal philosophy of drawing.

Over the last several months Kristen has been observing eagles’ nesting habits and has noted that eagles absorb everything into their nests. Using eagle imagery and vintage stamps, Kristen explores the metaphor of the nest as an archeological record of experience, and the eagle and U.S. Post Office as American icons. Come join Kristen as she emphasizes the importance of not only observing with your sight, but also with your sense of touch.

Kristen Lowe is an Associate Professor in Art and Art History at Gustavus Adolphus College, and is creator and founder of Carbon Mouse Studios: http://www.carbonmousestudios.com/carbon_mouse_studios/Kristen_GALLERY.html
