Join MSP Magazine Senior Shopping & Style Editor Allison Kaplan as she moderates a panel discussion with three authorities of fashion and design about Prince’s legacy and enduring influence on fashion, creativity, design, and music. You’ll get an industry perspective on Prince’s pioneering style as well as personal stories from a stylist and photographer who worked with Minnesota’s icon of fashion and music. The FASHIONOPOLIS Prince pop-up will be on display at Mia through Oct. 16. Get tickets!

  • Gabriel Ritter, Curator and Head of Contemporary Art at Mia // Gabriel Ritter assumed the role of Curator and Head of Contemporary Art at the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) in May 2016. Prior to his appointment at Mia, Ritter served as the Nancy and Tim Hanley Assistant Curator of Contemporary Art at the Dallas Museum of Art for four years where he oversaw the long-running Concentrations series focusing on internationally emerging and underrepresented artists. Ritter specializes in postwar and contemporary Japanese art, and served as the co-organizing curator for the exhibition Between Action and the Unknown: The Art of Kazuo Shiraga and Sadamasa Motonaga (2015) and editor of the accompanying scholarly catalog. In 2013, he was selected as one of the first non-Japanese curators for the triennial exhibition Roppongi Crossing 2013: OUT OF DOUBT at the Mori Art Museum, Tokyo. Ritter holds a Ph.D. in art history from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he also earned his M.A. in art history.
  • Gwen Leeds, Stylist // A lifelong fashion fan, Gwen met Prince through her husband, a music industry exec, and started assisting. First it was errands, then it became fashion consultation—everything from styling advice to sourcing fabrics to connecting him with designers. She has unique perspective on the musician, and an encyclopedic memory of his wardrobe through the years. Gwen continues to work as a stylist and is also an avid collector and seller of vintage fashion. Her occasional sales in the Twin Cities and the Hamptons in New York are legendary.
  • Nicole Nodland, Photographer // Nicole started her career as the personal photographer to Prince, touring with the band and documenting his life for two years. Since then her portfolio has added icons such as Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles and George Clinton and Lana Del Rey. Her clients include Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Elle, Amica, Lula, Nylon, Virgin Records, Sony Records, Mercury Records, Universal Records, RCA and Warner Music. Her photography has featured in the British Journal of Photography, Zoo and Graphics International.
