Sketching in the Galleries: Drawing Movement and Gesture

Gesture drawing is an approach that captures the sense of movement and life in a form. It is also present as a compositional force in a work of art. This class will discuss both these concepts and illustrate each through representative images from art history. Students will work from the permanent galleries as they practice this approach.
