Sketching in the Galleries: Themes and Purposes of Art—Creating Harmony and Order

Harmony is created through visual relationships in a work of art, giving it order and meaning. This class will discuss the importance of harmony and look at examples of its successful use. Students will apply these ideas in drawings from works in the MIA’s permanent collection.
