Sketching in the Galleries: Two-dimensional Art of China, Korea, and Japan

Instructor: Ken Wenzel

Three major types of two-dimensional art from Asia are found in the MIA’s collection: hanging scrolls, hand scrolls, and album pictures. These works offer an opportunity to study subtle gradations of line and tone. This class will discuss variations and uses of these visual elements and practice their application through copying works from the Asian art galleries.

Fees per session: $30; $22 for MIA members. To register, call (612) 870-3000 or register online »register online »
