Youth Class: Think Big! (Ages 14-17)

How do artists approach the creation of immense artworks? Where does one even start? To get an idea, we’ll look at the work of Chuck Close, including the MIA’s mondo-sized Frank. Then we’ll experiment with building grids for the photo-to-painting process and creating a 10-tone grayscale. By the end of this class, we’ll be making our own super-sized paintings on canvas created from a favorite photo.
