Art in Bloom
2014-15 co-chairs: JeanMarie Burtness and Arna Yetter
Produces the Friends spring fund-raiser, Art in Bloom, in cooperation with MIA staff. More than 60 volunteers manage floral artists, the AIB Garden Shop, speaker arrangements, and all special events during the four-day event in late April/early May.
Salon: An Evening with Friends
2014-15 co-chairs: Linda Goldenberg and Mary Merrick
Produces the Friends autumn fund-raiser, Salon, in cooperation with MIA staff. Volunteers bring together local and national trendsetters for conversations with our guests. Luminaries in the fields of architecture, fashion, print and the culinary arts are represented. This one-night event in November focuses on “What Drives Design”.
Art and Architecture

Planning one trip a year for Friends-only.
Friends get an exclusive inside look at local art and architecture with historical interest.
2014-15 co-chairs: Maria Eggemeyer and Jackie Tyson
Reviews proposed projects that will provide enriching opportunities for young people to experience and be inspired by the world of art.
2014-15 co-chair: Diane Skrien and Tracy Schaefer
Plans programs for the Friends membership, such as the Friends Book Club, special tours with MIA curators, or lectures by local artists.
2014-15 chair: Anne Worrell
Organizes, researches, and maintains the Friends’ historical information.
2014-15 co-chairs: Kris Bjorklund and Anita Jain
Plans and makes arrangements for coffees and luncheons that precede or follow the monthly Mary and Mark Fiterman Lecture series, presented by the Friends.

Promotes Friends membership to the community and processes new and renewing memberships.
2014-15 co-chairs: Barbara Scott and Terry Edam
Edits the Friends newsletter, writing articles, conducting interviews, and compiling information as needed.

Responsible for preparing and presenting a slate of officers for the Friends board to be elected at the annual meeting. Chaired by the immediate past president of the Friends Board.
Plants and Flowers
2014-15 co-chairs: Melinda Pfohl and Janet Karas
Arranges for interior floral arrangements and winter holiday décor at the MIA.
The Mark and Mary Goff Fiterman Lecture Fund
2014-15 co-chairs: Kay Miller and Nancy Kelly
Plans the Mary and Mark Fiterman Lecture Series and manages speakers’ in-town itineraries.
Research and Planning
2014-15 chair: Fran Megarry
Serves as a fact-finding, creative development, and study committee for the Friends. The committee also reviews Friends board guidelines, job descriptions, and policies and procedures. Chaired by the second vice president of the Friends board.
2014-15 chairs: Joan Kampmeyer and Mary Bachhuber
Manages the disbursement of funds from the Friends Transportation Fund to cover transportation costs for metro-area children to visit the MIA for museum guide tours.
2014-15 chair: Janice Anderson
Provides volunteers for MIA and Friends projects as requested.
