Reopening the African Galleries:
A 360-degree Experience

After 10 months under wraps, the MIA’s new African art galleries emerged transformed on November 10, 2013. The renovation provides an immersive experience, featuring cutting-edge interactive technologies and an open layout for 360-degree viewing—a fresh approach to galleries at the museum and a new way of seeing and understanding African art.

Generous support for the reinstallation of the African galleries provided by: The Wallace Foundation Excellence Award, the W. Duncan and Nivin MacMillan Foundation, Bob Ulrich and Diane Sillik, and Dr. Mary Ruth Weisel.
