The Minneapolis Institute of Art is driven by our vision “Inspiring wonder through the power of art”. In order to accomplish that, we’d like to connect as many people as possible to the museum and its amazing collection. We believe that digital technologies have the capacity to open up new doors and invite audiences to participate with the museum. We also don’t imagine that we’ve got it all figured out! By having an award contest, we make it possible for smart and creative innovators to contribute fresh ideas that help everyone benefit from the “power of art”.
The Contest is open to U.S. residents who are 18 years or older and is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Please see the terms and conditions.
No idea is too big or too small! Finalists will work with museum staff to refine and scale the ideas. What’s most important is that the idea is innovative and that you have the ability to make it happen.
We really don’t want to limit your creativity, so we hesitate to answer. We think your idea could be almost anything, such as an installation, a new way to interact, an app, or something we haven’t even considered – which is part of the reason why we are doing this in the first place. Surprise and delight us!
Use your imagination! The best ideas will definitely connect the museum with people and communities, but we want to leave how that’s done up to you.
There is no limit to the number of entries you may submit. Entries are open from August 1 through December 1, 2017.
No, once an Entry has been submitted, it can’t be accessed again. However, you can simply submit another Entry, even if it’s mostly-identical to a previous one. We’ll figure it out.
Each Entry will be acknowledged with a success message after completing the form. If you feel there may have been an issue in transmitting the form you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please make sure to submit your accurate email address when you enter.
Please have a look around artsmia.org, and also the museum’s presence on social media sites and GitHub. Mia shares a lot of information and data openly. If your idea requires access to specific kinds of data, make sure to indicate that on the Entry and we’ll do our best to ensure that the necessary data would be available should the Entry become the winner.
Contact us at email@example.com or fill out the form below. We’ll do our best to get back to you within two business days.
