This summer, in partnership with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, Mia will be out in the parks making art. In addition to participating in many local events, and collaborating with park naturalists on a Seeing Water Field Trip* for park youth, we will also offer FREE week-long art workshops for school-aged children at five area parks.
Join an artist from Mia to create artworks inspired by masterpieces in Mia’s collection. Be ready to have fun and look closely as you play, get creative, and set your imagination awhirl.

The MPRB Naturalists are teaming with the Minneapolis Institute of Art! Rec Plus, school-age childcare in select Minneapolis parks, will visit the Theodore Wirth Picnic Pavilion to explore the theme of water through the lens of both science and art. Focus on how water moves through the landscape and affects our daily lives. Mia artists share the art of ink painting inspired by examples from around the world!
Conducted in close collaboration with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, Art in the Park provides free summer art programs for youth in the Minneapolis parks.
