Anne Collier: In Conversation

In conjunction with the world premiere of her work, Women with Cameras (Self Portrait), 2017—a slideshow of 80 35mm slides depicting found images of a female subject in the act of taking a self-portrait—Anne Collier will discuss her recent series of slideshow works, her evolving interest in collecting found photographs, and the photographic medium’s conflicted relationship to memory, loss, and self-representation.

Anne Collier (b. 1970, Los Angeles), lives and works in New York. Her work was the subject of a major traveling survey exhibition organized by the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago (2014). Gabriel Ritter leads Mia’s Department of Contemporary Art.
