Daniel P. Bruggeman ǀ The Artist Is In

Whether you’re a doodler, a draftsperson, or somewhere in between, pick up a pencil and get drawing. Daniel P. Bruggeman will be on hand for informal drawing demonstrations, gallery talks, lessons, and to share his personal philosophy of drawing.

Please join artist, Dan Bruggeman, for a wonderfully engaging session that focuses on the intimacy of self-portraiture done in chalk and conte crayon.  Throughout the night, Dan will provide tips and tricks on getting the most out of your materials and will demonstrate the balance between the expressive qualities of the mark and the remarkably accurate representation achievable with these materials.  Dan’s session will be an artistic response to Anne-Louis Girodet de Roucy-Triosan, Lovis Corinth and Kathe Kollwitz’s drawings featured in the Marks of Genius exhibition, so don’t forget to take a peek before the session.

Dan Bruggeman is a professor in the fine arts department at Carleton College and uses elements of the aesthetic and natural worlds in his paintings. http://danbruggeman.com/
