Virtual Family Day: Shine On!

Be dazzled by the strength and brilliance of metal arts in Mia’s collection, some made thousands of years ago. Hear music played on metal gongs and cymbals by the Sumunar Gamelan Ensemble, and learn how to shine together through complicated times from therapist parents Jamil and Sara from Creative Kuponya. Quiz yourself about metal arts, and use household items to make your own mirror inspired by ancient bronze mirrors.

September 12: Pick up a free Family Day Artist Tote at Mia! You’ll find metal sundials cast by Sara Hanson from the WOW Mobile Metal Lab and Show to polish, plus art materials to prime your creativity for the <a href="https://new.artsmia.org/foot-in-the-door-5/">Foot in the Door 5: The Virtual Exhibition</a>, an open call for Minnesota artists of all ages to submit artworks that fit within a cubic foot. Pick up a kit on September 12 from 10AM-2PM at our 3rd Avenue entrance.
