The Artist Is In

Thursday evenings, 6-9 p.m., Target Galleries

Whether you’re a doodler, a draftsperson, or somewhere in between, pick up a pencil and get drawing. One artist each week will be on hand for informal drawing demonstrations, gallery talks, lessons, and personal reflections on the philosophy of drawing.

All ages and levels of experience welcome. Included with exhibition admission.

Museum hours, Target Galleries

An interactive Drawing Studio, adjacent to the show, will also be open during exhibition hours, free with an exhibition ticket purchase. Compose your own still life from a selection of props, drapery, and lighting. Sketch from plaster casts of classical sculptures. Develop fundamental drawing skills through short tutorial videos. Drawing materials are provided, or feel free to bring your own sketchbook and lead or colored pencils.

Every Thursday evening, an artist will offer instruction during “The Artist Is In” programs.

If you aren’t sure where to start, the video series “5 Ways to Use a Pencil” details basic drawing exercises. It’s available to watch both in the drawing studio and on the web.

All ages and levels of experience welcome. Included with exhibition admission.
