Scholarship Information

The Mia Youth & Teen Studio Program is pleased to offer full scholarships to families who qualify. This program is supported through the generosity of donors, including the Mike and Kathy Dougherty Fund, helping the museum inspire wonder through the power of art.

Who should apply: Youth and teens interested in the arts.

How to apply:
Eligibility is established based on financial need. To be considered for scholarship, a parent or guardian of the youth or teen will need to submit the following:

  • A Minneapolis Institute of Art scholarship application. All information is kept confidential. The application can be found here.
  • Become a My Mia member!  My Mia Membership is FREE, and you can join here.
  • One letter of recommendation sent on your family’s behalf via e-mail. A recommender should be a school counselor, social worker, teacher, church leader, etc. Please have the recommender include who he or she is, his or her affiliation with your family or child, and why the youth makes a worthy candidate for scholarship support. The letter should be sent from a professional e-mail address, e.g., from a school or church. Have your recommender email the letter directly to scholarships@artsmia.org.

Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and are valid for one year. Each youth or teen awarded a scholarship is invited to participate in one class/camp per season.

Scholarships are generously supported by the Friends of the Institute.
