Contracts

Contracts serve an important role in achieving Mia’s strategic goals and operational requirements, including but not limited to contractual agreements for professional services, partnerships, and procurement. Mia defines a contract as “an agreement that specifies certain legally enforceable rights and obligations pertaining to two or more parties.” See below for an overview of Mia’s contract process.

Mia’s Contract Process

  1. 1. The external party and Mia will determine the terms of the contract (date, description of services, payment, etc.).
  2. 2. Mia will draft the contract with agreed-upon terms and initiate the internal authorization process (external party is not involved with this step).
  3. 3. Once internal authorization is complete, Mia will coordinate with the external party to sign the contract.

Upon successful completion of services as described in the contract, the following process must be followed for payment.

Payment to External Parties

  1. 1. The external party must be onboarded in Airbase, Mia’s expense-management platform, with ACH instructions and a W9. Mia will initiate the Airbase onboarding process for the external party.
  2. 2. The external party must submit an invoice for services (as agreed upon in the contract) to Mia.
  3. 3. Mia will facilitate payment to the external party within 30 days of invoice submission.

If you have any questions about Mia’s contract process or payment to external parties, please contact your Mia representative or visit@artsmia.org.
