The Photographs Study Room is a resource for individuals, groups and classes in which to view photographs from Mia’s permanent collection. You can view the entire collection online here and make selections of up to 5 individual works for your appointment.

Please note, appointments are limited to one per day. Please schedule far in advance to ensure availability of your chosen date. We require 48-hour notice for cancellations. Appointments are scheduled for an hour unless otherwise requested. Appointments can be made through the online appointment form here.

Selecting collection objects for viewings
You may select up to 5 collection objects. To help create your list of requested work, you can view the entire collection online here. When filling out the online appointment form you will be asked to list the title, artist, and accession number of your requested works. Please use the online collection to collect this information. (See the example below.)
What can I bring with me into the study room?
Visitors must wear a mask Hand sanitizer will be available for visitor use. No closet space is provided for personal belongings. Please, plan accordingly. You may use your phone, a laptop, or a pencil and notebook to take notes. Table space may be limited depending on the group size and amount of artwork. No food or drink, pens, backpacks or large coats.

Can I take photos of the artwork?
Yes, photographs may be taken for research purposes with your phone. Alternatively, you can ask the supervising staff for an image of the artwork on view and we can send you a hi-res image by email.
