2020 MAEP Annual Meeting

2020 marks the 45th anniversary of the Minnesota Artist Exhibition Program (MAEP). To celebrate, Mia is kicking off the year with the MAEP Annual Meeting on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at 1 p.m. The MAEP Annual Meeting is your opportunity to meet the MAEP Artist Panel, the MAEP coordinator, and connect with artists from across Minnesota. Join us for refreshments and an afternoon conversation that looks toward the future of Minnesota’s artistic landscape.

To run for one of the three open seats on the MAEP Artist Panel, visit: https://new.artsmia.org/exhibitions/maep/maep-annual-meeting/

Doors will open at 1 p.m. with refreshments in Mia’s Reception Hall, Target Wing, third floor.

The MAEP Annual Meeting will be called to order at 1:30 p.m. with nominations for the MAEP Artist Panel.

At 2 p.m., we will open the floor for this year’s conversation: “Where do we go from here? Opportunities and challenges that lie before Minnesotan artists.”

The conversation will feature Ginger Shulick Porcella, executive director of Franconia Sculpture Park; Laura Wertheim Joseph, exhibitions curator, Minnesota Museum of American Art; and Leslie Barlow, MAEP artist and co-founder of Studio 400. The conversation will be moderated by Keisha Williams, curatorial assistant for contemporary art, Mia.

The event is free but ticketed.
