Art Play! is your chance to experiment. Each month, explore one medium, artist, or theme in an open studio. Go on a scavenger hunt to find inspiration in Mia’s collection, then make your own artwork in our studios. No prompts, no rules, just play.
Art Play! is free for everyone and open to all ages and abilities. Join us on the first and third Saturday of each month.

February 6 and 20 | Washable Paint
This winter, find joy in the mess … because it’s washable! Let your imagination run wild as you experiment. Don’t forget to explore Mia’s vast painting collection to find inspiration.
March 6 and 20 | Needle and Thread
This spring, try your hand with a needle and thread. Experiment with different stitches and make fun designs. We’ll provide age-appropriate supplies, including plastic needles and large thread for little ones.
April 3 and 17 | Spring Flowers
April showers bring paper flowers … and Art in Bloom! Come celebrate the season with 3D tissue paper flowers.
May 1 and 15 | Mark It Up!
You probably have a pack of Crayolas at home, but do you have chisel tip markers? Brush tip? What about paint markers? Try out different types and tips, and discover all the fun marks and masterpieces you can create with markers.
June 5 and 19 | Print It Out!
Explore the art of block printing. Learn techniques for carving your own stamp in this fun and accessible open studio. We’ll provide foam and dowels for children and linoleum and gouges adults.
