Artist Talk: Cy Thao

This artist talk is part of Mia’s Global Movements series. Artist Cy Thao talks about The Hmong Migration, his epic series of 50 paintings depicting Hmong immigrants’ journey from war-torn Laos to Minnesota. Thao fled Laos with his family when he was 3 and went on to become a Minnesota state legislator. His artwork aims at educating Hmong youth and other Minnesotans about the rich history of Hmong Americans.
