SOLD OUT – Artist Talk: Jacolby Satterwhite
Jacolby Satterwhite constructs vast digital fantasy worlds drawn from personal memory, popular culture, family history, and science fiction. Through 3-D animation and performance, Satterwhite explores a queer Afrofuturist universe inspired by consumer culture, fashion, medicine, surrealism, math, astrology, sex, philosophy, and matrilineal concerns. He will address two works featured in “Speculative Bodies,” an exhibition that looks at how the body is mediated by technology.
Jacolby Satterwhite’s exhibitions and performances have appeared at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; 2014 Whitney Biennial at the Whitney Museum of American Art; and 2013 “Triforce” at The Bindery Projects, Minneapolis.
