Julie Buffalohead (born in 1972 and an enrolled member of the Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma) is known for her narrative works on paper, which use allegory and archetype to create dreamscapes featuring a rich cast of characters, including trickster coyotes and rabbits, as well as turtles, deer, birds, and rodents. Admission to “Hearts of Our People: Native Women Artists” is included with this artist talk.
