Artist Talk: Nick Cave
Join us for a conversation with acclaimed multidisciplinary artist and educator Nick Cave in celebration of “Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys.” Throughout his practice, Cave creates spaces of memorial by combining found historical objects with contemporary dialogues on gun violence and death. His renowned Soundsuits are sculptural responses to the anxiety, trauma, and catastrophic loss caused by gun violence, while also holding space for hope, renewal, and healing. In discussion with Casey Riley, Mia’s chair of Global Contemporary Art, Cave will share deeper insights into his practice and the impact of his work within and beyond the spaces of the museum.
