Family Day: Make Play

Join us for our free monthly event for families, kids, and the young at heart. On the second Sunday of every month, the museum is filled with hands-on art activities, live music, dance performances, artist demonstrations, family tours and more — all inspired by Mia’s incredible collection.

Come play and make toys inspired by your imagination and art in the galleries.

Watch Uptown on the Lakes Morris dance Morris folk dances from England that involve stick clashing, jingle bells, and live music! They will also lead interactive workshops during the day.

Join Uptown on the Lakes Morris and get your feet stepping and jingling to the rhythms of Morris Dance, a folk dance from England. Each session is half hour.

Travel to Laos and Managuara (Indigenous Central America) through the stories recounted by Monkeybear puppeteers Liping and Rebekah. Monkeybear is a group that supports Native/POC in developing skills in contemporary puppetry.
