
Hands-on Art: Graffiti & Street Art
Get hands-on in this studio class for adults ages 60+. From ancient Egypt to present-day New York City, artists have been using a variety of tools and techniques to make art on the streets for thousands of years. In this class, we’ll look at the history of graffiti, then learn to use mediums of drawing, collage, aerosol painting, stencil cutting, and wheat pasting to express our own styles and personal voices to create individual works and a group mural.
Have fun, meet people, and make a masterpiece. No experience necessary.
Class will be held 1 – 3 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from October 23 – November 9. Class and materials fee is $200 for My Mia members; $240 non-members.
