Film Screening Bree Wayy: Promise Witness Remembrance (32 min)
11 a.m., 2 p.m.
In March 2020, medical worker Breonna Taylor was murdered in her home by police officers in Louisville, Kentucky. None of the officers involved were charged for her killing, which, along with the murders of George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery—all taking place between February and May of that year—inspired international outrage and worldwide protests in support of Black lives. While Taylor became known for the way she died, Dawn Porter’s documentary explores her legacy from a different angle: through the artwork she inspired.
Free tickets available May 9.
