Italian Film Festival 2014 Opening Night Film Screening: Cuore Sacro (English: Sacred Heart)

Director: Ferzan Ozpetek
Italian with English subtitles

Irene Ravelli inherited her father’s companies and knack for business. She’s a workaholic, unstoppable?until she loses two close friends to suicide. The loss sends her on a journey of emotional and spiritual transformation, a search for the sacred depicted with minimalist direction, elegant imagery and dialogue, and the award-winning acting of Barbora Babulova. Filmed in Naples and Rome.

This film is screened in conjunction with Sacred, an exhibition in the Target Wing that probes the nature of the sacred within a secular, multi-faith society. Sacred invites visitors to explore historic expressions of the divine, the spiritual, the essential, the beloved, and to ponder the word?s meaning in their own lives.
