MAEP Presents: A Performance in Honor of Mays

Essma Imady interviewed Mays, a young Syrian refugee, shortly before May’s death. On April 19, Imady will perform a work to honor Mays.

This performance is part of Imady’s MAEP exhibition, “Thicker than Water,” on view through June 24.

A filmmaker, sculptor, and installation artist, Imady grew up in Damascus, Syria, and left to study art in the United States in 2011. She received her MFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2016. Her work explores the missing narratives within the art world.

This exhibition is part of the Minnesota Artists Exhibition Program, now located in U.S. Bank Gallery.
