December 3 | On Pointe

Your fit may be on point, but is it on pointe? Enjoy ballet performances inspired by “Paris Couture” before joining Abby Caperton for a special talk. Drop by the studios to make sinamay leaves with milliner Karen Morris. Enjoy free smells from SENTi, and tours of the exhibition by vintage curator Jahna Peloquin.

December 10 | Suit Yourself

What is the fashion of the future? Hear from Lucy Dunne from the U of M’s College of Design before getting digitally dressed (yeah, sort of like the Clueless closet). Enjoy live performances against a projection mapped backdrop by Mafic Ocean. Make a sculpture you can wear with McKnight artist Laura Wennstrom.

December 17 | In the Limelight

On the third and final night of Mafic x Mia, you’re the star. And so is Julia Starr, who models her handmade drag designs for a special studio project with Sophia Weisensel. Artist and costume designer Sonya Berlovitz dishes on her life in theater, both in Paris and Minneapolis. Enjoy live performances throughout the evening.
