Martha Rosler: Conversation on Art, Text, and the Ethics of Representation

As a pioneer in feminist and conceptual art, Martha Rosler focuses on the public sphere, exploring issues related to everyday life, especially as they affect women. Her photography, video, text, installation, and performance projects and writings have addressed such diverse subjects as the media, systems of transportation, the role of artists in cities, housing and homelessness, and war and the national security climate.

For the 2016-17 Arnold Newman Lecture Series on Photography and New Media at Mia, Rosler will speak about the development of her multidisciplinary practice with Yasufumi Nakamori, Mia’s curator of Photography & New Media.
