Minneapolis Institute of Ice

Welcome to the Minneapolis Institute of Ice, where admission is always free(ze).

Minnesotans love their winters, and Mia loves sharing our collection. We’ve combined the best of both in an event designed to embrace the season—showing incredible works of art outdoors while you show off your winter layering skills.

Join us for an ice-cool opening at Meet at Mia, 5–9 p.m. Thursday, February 6. There’ll be tours of ice sculptures inspired by our favorites, including Veiled Lady and Your Dog, and pieces from the upcoming special exhibition “Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys.” Enjoy a live DJ and complimentary mulled cider and hot chocolate. Adults, be sure to stop by the ice bar for a craft cocktail. No registration required.

Tag @artsmia and #MiaIce to share your photos of the frozen masterpieces!

Minneapolis Institute of Ice will be on view during museum hours until it melts. Family-friendly, free; no tickets required.
