Sketching in the Galleries: Principles of Design, Unity/Variety

A successful drawing must have visual unity, which brings the viewer in, as well as variety to maintain their interest. This presentation will explore how the artist uses the visual elements to meet these needs. Students will explore the creation of unity and variety in their drawings of works in the collection maintaining both compositional control and interest.
