Strategies for Nurturing Global Competence through Art

Learn and practice teaching strategies for using art and objects to help nurture your middle- and high-school students’ global competence. The workshop includes an exploration of the concept of global competence in the classroom and experience applying teaching strategies in Mia’s galleries. It will also introduce the Tenement Museum’s Your Story, Our Story curricula to demonstrate how you can engage students in the research and presentation of objects that connect their family immigration stories to others’ across the country in a digital online storytelling exhibit.
