Join us for a performance by Grammy Award-winning ensemble Sounds of Blackness, and a talk by acclaimed music producer Gary Hines and Lissa Jones, host of KMOJ’s “Urban Agenda” and Black Market Reads podcast.

Gary Hines is Music Director and Producer of Sounds of Blackness, the 3-time Grammy Award-winning vocal and instrumental ensemble from the Twin Cities, but known internationally, who perform music from several genres music including gospel, R&B, soul, and jazz.

Lissa Jones is the creator and host of “Urban Agenda” on KMOJ Radio, which use the lens of Black History to contextualize present day issues African Americans face in the U.S., and all over the world. She is also host of the podcast Black Market Reads, featuring Black literary voices.
