Vitality Arts Workshop: Exploring Watercolor

Join teaching artist Michael Gaughan in this 5 week workshop where students will learn traditional and non‐traditional approaches to watercolor painting, including how to transfer an existing drawing to be used as the base for a painting, how to execute washes and blends, and how to achieve a variety of textures. Students will work from observation, photographs, and their imaginations to create vibrant, delicate, and luminous works using this translucent medium. Traditional techniques such as wet on wet, wet-on-dry, and dry brush will be demonstrated. Class time will be spent on demonstrations, lecture, studio time, and critique.

This workshop is presented as part of Mia’s Vitality Arts programming. Registration is limited to students age 55 and older.
