Wisdom of Happiness: A Heart-to-Heart with the Dalai Lama
Please join us for a film screening of Wisdom of Happiness: A Heart-To-Heart with the Dalai Lama. Refreshments will be available.
Wisdom of Happiness is a 90-minute documentary centered on the teachings of Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama. Directed by Barbara Miller and Philip Delaquis, the film presents an intimate conversation with the Dalai Lama about how people can find happiness and inner peace in today’s troubled world. The documentary is structured almost like a personal dialogue with the Dalai Lama. He speaks directly to the camera, giving the audience the feeling of a private conversation where he shares life lessons on happiness, compassion, and emotional resilience.
The film argues that true happiness does not come from wealth, power, or success, but from cultivating compassion for others, inner peace, understanding and managing emotions, and a sense of shared humanity. It also shows how these values can help people deal with modern problems such as stress, political conflict, climate crisis, and social division. Even though the world faces conflict and uncertainty, the Dalai Lama believes people can still build a compassionate and peaceful future.
