Wrestling Art into Words: A Random Walk through Mia

Mary Abbe was the visual art reporter and critic at the Star Tribune for 32 years. Her stories covered everything from ancient Chinese sculpture to the most current of multimedia artists, from Italian Renaissance art to the Minnesota-made treasures at our beloved State Fair. From cartoons to tapestry and prints to modernist furniture, the art Abbe experienced turned into stories for us, her readers. In her words, “It is the lives and stories of all those people and institutions that matter.”

One institution dear to her heart is our own Mia. Over the years, she was able to delve deep into the life and history of the museum. Join this award-winning reporter as she shares with us the stories she’s found within Mia and the artistic treasures that lurk within.

Reserve your ticket at artsmia.org or by calling 612.870.6323. Tickets are available for Friends members on October 15, and the general public on October 17.
