Free Exhibition
For 73 years, Bruce B. Dayton’s strong vision, business acumen, high aesthetic standards, passion for art, and commitment to public service guided the museum and inspired generations of donors, patrons, and visitors. Dayton (1918–2015) directed most of his many art acquisitions immediately into the museum’s collection, but others he chose to live with on a daily basis. He bequeathed 60 of those paintings, sculptures, and graphic artworks to the museum. This exhibition presents a selection of them, reflecting some of the principal yet wide-ranging tastes of Mia’s most extraordinary benefactor and trustee.
