Northern Spark at the MIA

June 9, 2012 - June 10, 2012
Museum-wide
Free Exhibition

Northern Spark is a summertime “nuit blanch” series of community-linked art projects open from 8:30 p.m. on July 9 through 6 a.m. on July 10. In its second year of participating, the MIA presents artists in residence Patty Mitchell, Robert Lockheed, and HOTTEA (Eric Rieger). They have been working with arts community leaders, art centers, and teen artists on a collaborative Northern Spark event. Their creative environments and installations comprise recycled and donated materials. Think balloons, quilts, painted fabrics, sewing stations, and giant artworks. It’s free; come join us!

Generous support for Northern Spark at the MIA provided by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Smaby Family Foundation.
