“Our Parks, Our Stories” marks the 140th anniversary of the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board’s founding. Through archival images and stories, the exhibition reflects on the growth of the Minneapolis park system and what lies at the heart of it: the experiences and narratives of the people it serves. The personal histories shared in this exhibition are a small slice of the ongoing Our Parks, Our Stories story-collecting initiative, which for a year now has gathered reflections from park users, staff, volunteers, and community leaders about their engagement with the parks. Visitors to this exhibition are invited to become part of the narrative: what do the parks of Minneapolis mean to you?
