Movie: Scott Nedrelow
Scott Nedrelow’s gallery filling experimental video and sound installation begins with a short clip of a film he recorded during numerous visits to movie theaters. Instead of using multiple cameras on a single night to gather shots, he went to a movie and sat in a different spot over multiple nights; each channel of the installation corresponds to a different visit to the theater. But what he trains his camera on, night after night, is not so much the screen, as the space between the screen and the spectator—between the powerful illusionary world of the film, and the world that we leave behind when it takes us in. Visitors are plunged into a space of motion where sounds and images—a movie within a movie—echo and stagger across six adjacent projections.

Finally, We Are All Young Again: Adam Caillier and Michael Mott
“Finally, We Are All Young Again” is a multiple-media exhibition of works by Adam Caillier and Michael Mott. The exhibition included a 3-D library where images of books cover bookshelves, each binding printed with an alternate title to the exhibition and to the works within it. Also included were slide projections from their footage of dance rehearsals and photographs of houses, trees, and teenagers. This overlapping and repetition of images is an example of the artists’ interest in photography and research, as well as interactive installations.
