Global Movements: A series of programs on (Im)migration

Culture and creativity know no geographic boundaries. They have been shaped by people everywhere—in their home countries, on new lands, and in between. In May, we’re hosting a series exploring the topic of immigration, migration, and the arts. This series of talks, film screenings, and discussions brings together artists, authors, and community leaders to explore the topic of immigration. Drawing on artwork from the museum’s collection as inspiration, programs will explore the hopes, challenges, and determination of the successive waves of immigrants who contribute to our vibrant cultural landscape. Through an examination of this topic from multiple perspectives, participants will have an opportunity to build increased understanding of one another and strengthen connections across cultures. Presented in partnership with UNICEF and the Advocates for Human Rights.
