The Job
To provide administrative and directed curatorial support to the department of Decorative Arts, Textiles, and Sculpture (DATS), as well as to the DATS Affinity Group.
In this role, you will…
- Performs administrative duties for the department.
- Conducts research, maintains and coordinates all filing systems, including object, collector, dealer and general files, label and gallery maintenance.
- Assists with and maintains special projects as needed.
- Responsible for departmental accounting.
- Performs administrative functions for the DATS Affinity Group: Provides content for Affinity emails created by Audience Engagement, works with Advancement, Learning Innovation, D&E, Events, and D’Amico Catering on Affinity events and preparation.
Specific Requirements
- Minimum of three years of administrative experience with organizational emphasis.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and keyboarding speed of 60 WMP.
- Excellent professional skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must have very good language and communication skills, and be self-motivated, with the ability to initiate follow through on independent projects and those assigned.
- Ability to work with and communicate effectively with people of a variety of different educational, ethnic, language and economic backgrounds.
- Must maintain confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive departmental relations and records.
- Nonprofit/museum experience desirable.
