MINNEAPOLIS—November 18, 2020— The Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) will temporarily close to the public starting Saturday, November 21, following new Covid-19 restrictions issued by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

“The health and well-being of Mia visitors and staff is our utmost priority, and we are committed to doing our part to protect our community,” said Katie Luber, Nivin and Duncan MacMillan Director and President at Mia.

Mia will continue to offer digital content, including “Foot in the Door 5: The Virtual Exhibition,” The Object podcast, and the Arts of Asia learning resource for students. In addition, all previously scheduled virtual events and programming will take place as planned.

Mia does not anticipate reopening prior to January 2, 2021. Updates to the exhibition calendar will be noted on Mia’s website at artsmia.org.
