2026–27 MAEP Exhibitions
The Minnesota Artists Exhibition Program (MAEP) features the following exhibitions this year.
March 21–June 21, 2026
Through bewitching stop motion animation and dense, campy soundscapes, “The Milkman” shows a family keeping secrets from each other in strange and startling ways. Drawing from both enduring American mythologies and personal family lore, Nerburn uses the disarming whimsy of puppetry and dollhouses to reveal a domestic life coming undone.
Watch Nerburn talk about the exhibition:
“Ziba Rajabi: Belly Laugh at a Funeral”
July 18–October 25, 2026
Drawing on ancient practices from the Iranian plateau and Mesopotamia, Ziba Rajabi’s exhibition features textile works that explore the emotions following grief—peace, acceptance, healing, and progress. Presented with a soundtrack and cushions, the installation invites visitors to gather and experience collective reflection.
November 21, 2026–February 21, 2027
This exhibition explores migration, inheritance, and belonging through objects shaped by displacement. Named after the cartographic line crossing North Africa and the Middle East, the exhibition traces artist Tamir’s cultural lineage.
