August 11: Art Passport

This summer, explore art from around the world at Mia! Experience lush landscapes, lavish still lifes, and scenes of daily life, as seen through the eyes of Dutch painters in “Destined for Mia: A Collection of Dutch Paintings,” on view in Cargill Gallery through August 25. Then, paint a gouache still life inspired by art objects from around the globe with artist Jinjer Markley, and design your own luggage tag with Mia teaching artist Rhea Boese-Colond. Join Petite Concerts on a classical-music journey for all ages, and find art from all seven continents on a gallery hunt of Mia’s global collection.

About Jinjer Markley

Jinjer Markley is an artist and illustrator with formal training as a scientist and science teacher. Nature is a major source of inspiration, not least because it is full of surprises to discover. She is a watercolor/gouache enthusiast for the same reason, and finds that working with watercolor and gouache is like having a roomful of friends, each color with its own quirky personality. She is also a color nerd.
