Virtual Event: Rest as a Portal of Healing with Tricia Hersey of the Nap Ministry

This was a virtual event that took place via Zoom.

Tricia Hersey is the founder of The Nap Ministry, an organization that examines rest as a form of resistance by curating spaces for the community to rest via Collective Napping Experiences, immersive workshops, and performance art installations. In this slow and connected exploration of rest as a portal for healing, communal care, and resistance, Tricia will use storytelling, imagery, and collective daydreaming to uplift her “rest as resistance” framework. There will be a 15-minute question and answer session at the end of the talk.

Engaging with art can also be restorative, so this program is presented with a virtual care package of art-making prompts, guided meditation, and a self-guided tour of works in the collection that speak to the themes of rest. Click here to view the care package. To access the self-guided tour, click here.
